I needed a way to protect our horse from hitting his left eye socket/brow bone after he had his eye enucleated. This was the answer! He seems a lot more relaxed and confident now that he is protected. The fly mask cover fits really well. Thank you!

We love our solar visor with ears. It's a great fit and provides great coverage for my gelding with uveitis. It even stands up to the rough housing of his neighbors who try to take it off him daily.

Our dog had cataract surgery at Cummings Veterinary Medical Center of Tufts University. She needed to protect her eyes at all times but the cone was cumbersome, knocked into things and didn’t help outdoors because branches and twigs could breach it. She was agitated after the surgery because of prednisone but we couldn’t fit her in her old crate with the cone so she would pace overnight and bang into things. A soft cone improved the noise level over the rigid one she came home in. Her doctor mentioned the Optivizor in the post-visit notes. We were impressed with the quick turnaround on our order. It made an immediate improvement to our dog’s quality of life and ours — better sleep and ability to walk on our regular trail without getting tangled in branches.

The sun visor does its job! It stays on well, never caves in towards her eyes, protects her from UV and flies, and best of all - makes her look like a big ol' beekeeper!!! She's been using it for a few months now and the only spot showing wear is the velcro flap. I'm being a bit more careful with how I detach the velcro now and I'm sure I'll be able to put a few stitches in later if the fabric fully separates from the velcro.

Had trouble keeping it on but seem to have worked that out. Probably going to order the padding set.

Overall positive experience, to make the product better, the visor can be flip up or down for easy administer of eye meds, i was under the impression this face cover could replace the Elizabethan cone, but it didn't, so i used it as a face mask for after full recovery to protect her eyes. the Velcro strap on and off is "stupid", a clip on with preset (by owners) would make it so much easier....

Great product recommended by my vet. Very quick shipping.

She can get it off her face

This is a great product except for one thing. The mask irritated my dog’s nose and the corners of her mouth. I purchased a silicone u channel edge guard to add to the perimeter of the visor. It did the trick to keep her from irritating her face further. It would be great if a length of self adhesive u channel guard was included along with the foam piece to enhance the comfort.

I’m extremely happy with the SolarVizor. My mare lost one eye to a complication from epithelial immune-modulated keratitis and has the same disease in her remaining eye, and so lives in protective masks full time to protect it. I got the SolarVizor because the Recovery Vizor (which I also love, and protected her eye for many months successfully!) was too hot on her face during the hot and humid heatwaves and generally high summer temperatures we’ve been having, and she was losing the hair on her cheeks and around her ears. Switching to the SolarVizor helped stop the hair loss, and even better has let the hair start to regrow, while continuing to protect from/prevent her rubbing her eye, like the Recovery Vizor did. As a recommendation for other horse owners trying to manage chronic eye conditions via masks in hot weather—I did remove the inner EVA lining to improve airflow, since sweat (and not necessarily UV protection) was my main need. Highly recommend!

Straps rubbed hair off his cheek after 2 days so added halter fleece. Width of visor prevents him from drinking below about half the water in bucket hung on wall. Otherwise okay.

I have a paint mare with a large white blaze and pink skin on her nose, bought the fly mask with coverage to help protect her from the sun. She came to me a little toasted but since she’s been wearing the mask that rosey burnt skin has gone away. I love the cut outs for the nostrils and the bands to help her keep the mask on her head! Would happily buy again!

Penguin had eye surgery and needed this fly mask! It's enabled her to be outside safely.

I’ve had a problem in the past with fly masks not being wide enough and rubbing my mare’s eyes so tried the Equivizor. I am so glad it fits her and she even asked to have it put on when the flies were bothering her! She hasn’t tried to rub it off either. She was recently diagnosed with a cataract so I very much appreciate the UV protection also. I’ll be ordering another!

This product has been super useful in trying to protect our mini donkey's eye before and after having a mass removed that grew on the corner of her eye.

Nemo had cryosurgery for squamous cell carcinomas on his lower eyelid. This solar shield is exactly what he needs to protect his healing eye from sun and bugs. Other masks collapsed, irritating his healing eyelid.

Not only does this mask protect his eyes, the way the nose piece is designed; allows for better air flow. Most masks drape over the nostrils impeding air flow. This mask covers his nose with zero air restriction!!

They don't slip (if I get them adjusted just right).

Because we live in Canada it did take some time to receive the mask. But the mask is great fit well easy to apply. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Customer service didn't get back to me about measurements via the website, but they did respond right away over email and then were very attentive on helping with the fit. They gave me the honest assessment that a Japanese Chin will be particularly hard to fit, and that was true. It took trying a handful of sizes to get the right fit. My dog ended up with the new style short snout mini. The mini will not come off no matter what he tries (and he has tried many things). Notably, you need the right size for a Japanese Chin, because my dog could easily get out of the next size up. I'm glad the optivisor worked because we needed his eye to heal from surgery for an indolent ulcer, and he could get out of any other visor brand we tried (I bought at least a dozen). In a cone he could smash his face to the side to get at his eye, or lunge at the corner of pillows. Nothing he tries allows him to scratch or rub his eye in the optivisor. I was hoping the optivisor could also prevent my dog from licking his eye ball constantly. The optivisor discourages it, but unfortunately, he can still get his tongue up in the mask. Perhaps if I cut and adjusted it more, we could get a closer fit. I did try and ended up cutting the visor too high, making me need to order a new one. That's entirely my fault though. The vets were worried my dog could not heal his ulcer because of his eye licking, but I guess the optivisor discouraged it sufficiently enough that the ulcer did heal, which was a relief and helped prevent a full eye removal for now. If he has future eye injuries and surgeries to heal from, we will definitely use this visor again. Finally, an important note: you need someone with dexterous and gentle hands to get this on and off a short snout dog without hurting the dog. A male family member who has very large and somewhat clumsy hands could not do it.

We rescued a horse who was found to have Lyme induced uveitis. This mask has been able to keep her eyes covered and to help prevent flair ups! We will 100% be getting her masks from here again!!

The Optivizor is a great product. My dog had an eyelid mass removed and had a needle biopsy of another small mass which turned out to be a cyst. We started with the NovaGuard in the event the second mass required surgical removal. Once I knew only the eye mass was being removed, I ordered the OptiVizor. It made eating, drinking, and sniffing so much easier. Moose never tried to take it off. I highly recommend this product for eye protection.

Very happy with this flymask, its helping my guy heal from a corneal ulcer, with the UV protectant and sturdy brim he cant rub his eye on anything. The size full Is a bit small for him, but he has a larger jaw which I think is whats making it fit a bit small. Overall great flymask.

this is a very nice visor. my horses neighbor keeps taking it off though so i need extra clips

Best purchase we have made by far. Obi unfortunately found himself with an injured eye to the point he almost lost it. As a short snout dog traditional cones just dont work well to protect his eyes. This is the best protection and fits him perfectly. He loves the freedom it gives. He can still play with his toys, eat/drink normally, and sleeps perfectly with it on. Our vet was thrilled with it and it truly saved his eye. It is now a staple for outside wear since he is at higher risk of having a repeat injury. The pictures and measurements really made this process so simple, and we got just what we needed in the right size. Which is difficult for us as he is odd shaped and doesn't fit typical weight or size standards for his breed.

He is able to have his eyes wide open without his long eye lash being squished like in other masks. Also is an Excellent sun blocker! Some say this masks reminds them of a Holly Hobby bonnet. Wonderful addition to the UV protection line.

product works very well! Protects eyes after surgery. Much better than cone collar. He is able to eat and drink just fine.

I like the custom fit. I tried it on my other colleague, and it doesn’t fit them quite as well as it fits the one that I measured and sent photos for. Thank you for making a cone that allows my dog to do some of his normal activities, and is less likely to slip his “pencil head “out of!

We bought this for our rescued steer who recently had eye surgery to remove Squamous Cell Carcinoma. It was incredibly hard to find a mask that would fit our 6’5 boy, but this one is PERFECT! I love that it’s 100% UV protected, and doesn’t sit close to his eyes. I’ve already recommended to a couple of people looking for their steer as well. Thanks again!

Great product

These goggles along with a nose net have really helped my pony who suffers from head shaking due to light and airflow sensitivity. And, they so fit his personality!

This is the third replacement that I have purchased. My horse has had some issues with uveitis. Not chronic but we are taking no chances. She likes wearing it, she’s very cooperative when I put it on. I think she finds it a relief.

21 yr old Cushing’s Shetland Pony pulls cart. This solar shield fits perfectly over harness bridle. Pony has blue eyes and pink skin.

One of our Frenchie girls unfortunately suffered a devastating eye injury. She was living in the usual cone of shame but she started to develop an ear infection and rash under her short jaw, even though we were cleaning and treating her several times daily. I researched for eye protective wear and that’s how I found out about these life changing visors. The day we got it, we adjusted the visor to fit her head and ears from the directions included with the visor. It has been nothing short of amazing. She is able to eat and drink normally and her activity level is back to super charged funny clown frenchie because she is so comfortable in it. At her last Vet appointment, everyone was so impressed with the visor. And because of the added protection over her eye, her eye is healing faster. We both work in Veterinary Hospitals and both hospitals are recommending your visor to patients.

Just tried on today. Seems very comfortable for my guy. So far so good.

First I think this is a WONDERFUL thing to have !! it definitely has cushion and protection . HOWEVER , it’s NOT made with durable material that can hold up in a horse environment .:: one week of wearing it I am already duct taping it to try to get it to last . For the COST I paid I feel it should be made with a material that can withstand longer then a few days of a horse bumping into things or rubbing … my Mare had both eyes remove and is learning her environment BUT for $300 I feel this should last longer then a week .. it has a lot of cushion and has protected her so far but not for long it’s coming apart … if you plan to keep your horse stalled this is a good thing but she doesn’t need it in the stall .. she needs it while grazing roaming and learning her environment .. I bought it to protect her while she is out of the stall . Before you pay the money make sure of the environment your horse lives in while wearing it .. the material will not withstand them rubbing their head or to many bumps .. you can see in the picture the damage after about 5 days and it has gotten worse . ,

Pony size fit my 13ish hand pony mule just right. She is a pony size in general. Wish they would make donkey or mule ears for these masks. Easy to clean and adjust. I have spares to always have a clean one available.

So much better than the “classic cone.” My boy is much more comfortable and isn’t fighting this, like he did the alternative. He can still eat and drink while recovering from surgery in far more comfort. He is 90lbs in a large, so a big dog! This made a huge difference!

I'm a return customer for 7 years now to protect my Double Cream Blue Eyed Pinto adopted BLM Mustang, Diablo.

My baby has a corneal ulcer and keeps rubbing his face, irritating not only the eye but his cheek as well… the visor mask is helping in minimizing the rubbing.
