He hates it and we will see if he gets it off. But he is rubbing his eyes after surgery so we really have to keep it on him. And itās soooooo much better than a cone. It fits perfectly. And allows him to eat and go out the dog door.

The mask is great on our cow tho her face measurements were 2 inches longer than the size of your extra large mask. I did not get the quick answers to my questions but purchased it anyway and am very happy with its fit and performance.
Grateful to these folks for creating this great alternative to the draconian Elizabethan collar. I had my doubts that this stubborn little Corgi would cooperate. Spending time getting your dog used to it by providing good treats really pays off. Thereās plenty of videos on YouTube that shows you how to introduce and make it a game with treats. The Novaguard recovery collar made it possible for Zuni to live mostly normal for the 2 weeks he needed it after eyelid resection surgery. He accepted it - the fact that it was so comfy was a plus. Go thru the fitting process by providing the type of pictures requested, well worth it!
Our pony club horse always has eye issues. This is the only mask that he canāt rub his eye and ulcerate it!
Our little dog has regained so much independence having this product! Thereās nothing like it out there. I highly recommend it. It has changed her life significantly for the better.

Best item I have purchased to stop my French Bulldog from scratching a skin issue just outside his eye. He wears it 24/7 with no issues. He can eat and drink without issue.

This is an absolute game changer. My 2 year old dog had bilateral cataract surgery and I donāt know how I would have survived this in a regular cone. He can drink and sleep in this and heās comfortable versus a cone. I cannot recommend this enough and Iām so grateful the surgeon recommended this!!!
Henry has a cataract in his left eye which over the last year has caused him to slightly twist so his right eye is more forward and he became sensitive to bright sunlight which resulted in quite a bit of head shaking. Long trail rides were becoming uncomfortable for me due to his slight right forward twist, my back is too old for that for two hours, lol. These sunglasses have already been a help even after two short rides. He's already realizing he can see a little better and my back is very happy about that. And yes, they also could not look cooler!
This happens every couple weeks. But I have no choice because my horses nose burns. But the nose flap comes off so easily. Ugh I wish I could find a better mask.

My mare loves the Equivizor! Bought a second one for a spare.
My mare scraped her cornea while she was in the hospital so the vet put this on her. I got one so she could wear it at home. It's easy to take on and off for her eye meds 6x/day. The matching/fitted fly mask is very nice/helpful. My only complaint: the strap for under the chin is a thin material. It's 1" wide but thin (not like a flat halter) and it rolls. She has rubbed her face where the strap curls and the edges rub her skin. I guess the extra padding would have been a good purchase. What's odd is the vet's had thicker straps for under the chin and didn't give her any trouble.

Our little dog had an accident in December of 2025 with our other dog. It was devastating, but we did not give up. She will be 16 in October and with this Optivizor, we can give her the freedom to enjoy our garden space and outdoors without risk to her remaining eye. We could not be more pleased with this purchase. It has changed her life in a significant and very positive way.

I love your masks for my gelding with uveitis. The solar visor without ears does stay on better than the one with ears. The neighbor horse keeps taking it off. Any ideas on how to prevent other horses removing the mask?
The padding does not fit the mask at all and doesn't cover where it should
I needed a way to protect our horse from hitting his left eye socket/brow bone after he had his eye enucleated. This was the answer! He seems a lot more relaxed and confident now that he is protected. The fly mask cover fits really well. Thank you!
We love our solar visor with ears. It's a great fit and provides great coverage for my gelding with uveitis. It even stands up to the rough housing of his neighbors who try to take it off him daily.
Our dog had cataract surgery at Cummings Veterinary Medical Center of Tufts University. She needed to protect her eyes at all times but the cone was cumbersome, knocked into things and didnāt help outdoors because branches and twigs could breach it. She was agitated after the surgery because of prednisone but we couldnāt fit her in her old crate with the cone so she would pace overnight and bang into things. A soft cone improved the noise level over the rigid one she came home in. Her doctor mentioned the Optivizor in the post-visit notes. We were impressed with the quick turnaround on our order. It made an immediate improvement to our dogās quality of life and ours ā better sleep and ability to walk on our regular trail without getting tangled in branches.
The sun visor does its job! It stays on well, never caves in towards her eyes, protects her from UV and flies, and best of all - makes her look like a big ol' beekeeper!!! She's been using it for a few months now and the only spot showing wear is the velcro flap. I'm being a bit more careful with how I detach the velcro now and I'm sure I'll be able to put a few stitches in later if the fabric fully separates from the velcro.
Had trouble keeping it on but seem to have worked that out. Probably going to order the padding set.
Overall positive experience, to make the product better, the visor can be flip up or down for easy administer of eye meds, i was under the impression this face cover could replace the Elizabethan cone, but it didn't, so i used it as a face mask for after full recovery to protect her eyes. the Velcro strap on and off is "stupid", a clip on with preset (by owners) would make it so much easier....

This is a great product except for one thing. The mask irritated my dogās nose and the corners of her mouth. I purchased a silicone u channel edge guard to add to the perimeter of the visor. It did the trick to keep her from irritating her face further. It would be great if a length of self adhesive u channel guard was included along with the foam piece to enhance the comfort.
Iām extremely happy with the SolarVizor. My mare lost one eye to a complication from epithelial immune-modulated keratitis and has the same disease in her remaining eye, and so lives in protective masks full time to protect it. I got the SolarVizor because the Recovery Vizor (which I also love, and protected her eye for many months successfully!) was too hot on her face during the hot and humid heatwaves and generally high summer temperatures weāve been having, and she was losing the hair on her cheeks and around her ears. Switching to the SolarVizor helped stop the hair loss, and even better has let the hair start to regrow, while continuing to protect from/prevent her rubbing her eye, like the Recovery Vizor did. As a recommendation for other horse owners trying to manage chronic eye conditions via masks in hot weatherāI did remove the inner EVA lining to improve airflow, since sweat (and not necessarily UV protection) was my main need. Highly recommend!
Straps rubbed hair off his cheek after 2 days so added halter fleece. Width of visor prevents him from drinking below about half the water in bucket hung on wall. Otherwise okay.
I have a paint mare with a large white blaze and pink skin on her nose, bought the fly mask with coverage to help protect her from the sun. She came to me a little toasted but since sheās been wearing the mask that rosey burnt skin has gone away. I love the cut outs for the nostrils and the bands to help her keep the mask on her head! Would happily buy again!

Iāve had a problem in the past with fly masks not being wide enough and rubbing my mareās eyes so tried the Equivizor. I am so glad it fits her and she even asked to have it put on when the flies were bothering her! She hasnāt tried to rub it off either. She was recently diagnosed with a cataract so I very much appreciate the UV protection also. Iāll be ordering another!
This product has been super useful in trying to protect our mini donkey's eye before and after having a mass removed that grew on the corner of her eye.
Nemo had cryosurgery for squamous cell carcinomas on his lower eyelid. This solar shield is exactly what he needs to protect his healing eye from sun and bugs. Other masks collapsed, irritating his healing eyelid.
Not only does this mask protect his eyes, the way the nose piece is designed; allows for better air flow. Most masks drape over the nostrils impeding air flow. This mask covers his nose with zero air restriction!!
They don't slip (if I get them adjusted just right).
Because we live in Canada it did take some time to receive the mask. But the mask is great fit well easy to apply. Highly recommend. Thank you.
