How to Apply & Ensure a Correct Fit

Ensuring your Solar Vizor is properly sized to your horse is key to receiving the maximum benefits of its superior design elements.

NOTE: Detailed instructions, tips and product care are included in each order. Should you have any questions, we are always here to help!

Cleaning and Maintenance
- Regularly inspect your horse’s eyes and face as well as clean the Vizor.
- Rinse out with a hose, or hand wash with mild liquid soap. Rinse well and allow it to air dry only.
- Check Your Fencing: Inspect regularly for sharp edges (i.e. Ag Fencing). This could result in a mask getting hooked or snagged. An easy fix is putting duct tape along the top of that type of fence line. It helps decrease the risk of a mask getting caught/torn.
- Replacement Quick-Release Clips: Clips can be purchased on our website.

This is such a great mask! My POA is photosensitive and needs extra eye protection. This mask doesn’t rub on his eyes at all because of the reinforced brow piece. He wears it 24/7 and I rarely find that he’s pulled it off because of the throat latch piece.

I have a horse with a cataract in one eye, and scarring from an injury in the other. Because of her eye issues, she was really sensitive to the sun. My vet recommended keeping a fly mask on her year round, as the snow glare was even worse than full summer sun for her. But I noticed her squinting, even with a fly mask on. I searched for UV protective masks, and discovered the Solar Vizor. The fit of the Solar Vizor is very good on my small faced mare. She has only lost the mask once, even with rubbing her face on the round bales. She no longer squints in the bright sunlight. We will be possibly buying the riding version as well. Definitely worth the cost. The only thing I wish was different was I would like to see fleece on the lower edge of the mask where it rests on her nose.

JoJo, our paint, has gotten all other fly masks we've tried on him off in 30 minutes or less. But not your Visor! And he seems to like wearing it. I use it on him because his face, especially the white around his right eye sunburns so easily, and he rubs the sunscreen off. He did get the strap behind one ear off, but once I padded the strap so it didn't rub that ear (it's white and sunburns easily also), he is fine with it. Such a great find!!! This the second solar visor I've purchased. The first one is showing some fraying. I also have the Equivisor fly mask and the eVisor eye glasses. They work wonderfully. I have a Appaloosa X Quarter Horse Mare that suffers from uveitis and has the beginning of a cataract in her one eye. Since wearing them the progression of the uveitis and the cataract has stabilized and doesn't seem to be progressing. They are wonderful! One of the cheaper and highest UV protection out there that I have found. My trickster rarely ever gets it completely off and it holds up better than most to his rolling and scratching abuse. My Belgian had to have his third eyelid removed due to cancer. I purchased the Equivisor several days before the surgery so he had time to get used to it. I was.looking for goggles for my horse, to see if it might help him with head shake syndrome. He and I, have been suffering with this syndrome for about 6 years. In the spring, he is almost un-rideable. He shakes his head so much, that I have to ride in a bit less bridle so I don't accidently bang his mouth. I found your site, and read the reviews, one of the reviews were from another rider with the same issues that I was having, and she really liked the visor. I did not want to by, yet another miracle product that would sit on a shelf and collect dust, so I tried an experiment. I took a fly mask, that I already had, and.put a piece of cardboard above his eyes, and secured it with zip ties, then took him for a ride. What a difference! I rode him several more time, to make sure that it wasn't just a fluke, but it wasn't. I ordered 2, and what a difference it makes. My horse can now stay focused on me and what I am asking for. My only complaint is that I had not heard of this product sooner.

I have an Oldenburg cross and he has kind of bulgy eyes. I am on the eastern plains of Colorado and between the intense wind and intense high desert sun his eyes are always weepy and sore looking. I try to keep a fly mask on him year round, but the old one was often blowing down onto his eyes or rubbing then making the irritation worse. I have noticed a huge difference with this mask - it is held away from his face protecting his eyes, and with in a week of using it his eyes are no longer weepy and red.

I have a horse with head shake syndrome and the SolarVisor has given him great relief during the days in his paddock.
