EquiVizor Fly Masks come in 5 sizes from Mini to X-Large (Draft). Ensuring your horse has the correct size is KEY to getting the most benefits out of the product.

Follow the guidelines below to help in determining the correct size for your horse.
Measure the size of your horse's FOREHEAD
- This is a combination of 3 Separate Measurements, not a single arc. Follow the steps below and use the picture as your guide:
- This will measure the widest part of your horse's forehead when done correctly. NOTE: Do NOT measure straight across the eyes as the distance will result in a EquiVizor Fly Mask size likely too small for your horse.

How to Apply & Ensure a Correct Fit

Ensuring your fly mask is properly sized to your horse is key to receiving the maximum benefits of its superior design elements.

NOTE: Detailed instructions, tips and product care are included in each order. Should you have any questions, we are always here to help!

Cleaning and Maintenance
- Regularly inspect your horse’s eyes and face as well as clean the mask.
- Rinse out with a hose, or hand wash with mild liquid soap. Rinse well and allow it to air dry only.
- Check Your Fencing: Inspect regularly for sharp edges (i.e. Ag Fencing). This could result in a mask getting hooked or snagged. An easy fix is putting duct tape along the top of that type of fence line. It helps decrease the risk of a mask getting caught/torn.
- Replacement Quick-Release Clips: Clips can be purchased on our website.

Yes, finally a fly mask that stays on! This is a well-fitted and very durable mask. My only complaint is that, because it is so durable, it is a bit stiff and rubbed bald spots on my horse’s face. Granted, he does have a fairly sensitive face. I remedied this by sewing some shearling onto the front. This would be a great option for you to offer.

I bought the Full size with ears for my large POA mare, and with it adjusted properly, it is a good fit. She did get it off once, but I had it on a bit too loose. I tweaked the straps and it's staying on now. It give great protection and doesn't rub her eyelashes like some others.

This is the second mask Ive purchased, not because the first didnt hold up. Quite the contrary. The mask i purchased last March held up so well that I got another for my other horse. Both horses jump into their masks before turnout instead of me having to chase their heads around trying to get another brand on. The only difference between the new mask and the year old mask is the fading from the Florida sun. The older mask is in perfect structural condition, just grey instead of black!! Amazing product for the same price of other masks that the horses rub off and I have to search for.

I’ve used Equivizor eye masks for many years now. My horse suffers from squamous cell carcinoma so having his eyes protected with high UV protection rated masks is paramount to his health. I love how well the mask fits his large head, is easy to get on and off and stays off of his eyes. I have to keep his halter on and rig the mask up through it so my other horse doesn’t take his mask off. So far so good. My only issue with the mask is that the clips are plastic. In the brutal Michigan winters, the plastic can shatter from being so cold and then need replacing. Other than that the masks are fantastic and very reasonably priced so replacing them isn’t as painful as other horse specialty products. 10/10 would and do definitely recommend!

I love these masks, I have multiple for my horse who had SCC in his right eye last year. I ended up having to size up (cob to full) for the mask with ears as you cannot lower it similarly then the earless models. It would have fit, but my Haffie has long lovely eyelashes and they needed more space! These masks are great and they wash really well. Plus my horse does not seem to mind them and he does not even try to take them off.

I found a used one for sale online through a private party and purchased it. These are great fly masks as long as naughty boys don't play too rough. The plastic buckles break easy but if you can sew you can replace them. The mask itself is heavy duty & very well made. It's like a cross between a baseball cap & mosquito net for horses.

I was super excited to see so many great products on this site! I recently bought a horse and it turns out she's very light-sensitive. I wanted to get her a fly mask that would help make her more comfortable and it was important to me that the mask block a high percentage of UV rays and also that it wouldn't get squashed into her eyes easily like many masks do. I heard a lot of good things about the Equivizor and was happy to find it for sale here at a very reasonable price. This is the first mask I've tried that gives sufficient eye clearance. My Thoroughbred has a broad jaw and is between a full and a warmblood size in other masks. This one fits well, although the ears are quite long and my horse does not have short ears. But, the excess space in the ears does mean more air flow. The fabric in the ear area is thicker than I'd prefer but it feels durable. (He somehow tore a hole in the ear of a different brand the first day he wore it.) I like the ability to adjust the fit of the poll and throatlatch areas. I also like that I can pull his forelock through. The only thing that concerns me is the thickness of the padded area above the eyes, even though it is ventilated. I live in a hot climate and the top of his head became sweaty in the 30 minutes he wore it. I don't recall that happening so quickly with the other brand I've used. Still, this is a very well made mask that works for my hard to fit horse. I'll likely stick with this brand in the future.

I’ve used the mask without ears for years after my mare’s eye surgery, with great success. With fly season coming up, I thought my mare might appreciate some ear protection too, so I bought the model with ears. It looked great, but somehow my mare kept losing it in the field. The Best Fly Mask These are the best fly masks I've ever used. The visor keeps the mask away from my horse's eyes. I have purchased a bunch of these for my horses and will continue to do so. I have highly recommended them to my friends and neighbors, and they use them now too. They stay on very well as long as the horse doesn't break a clip and even then, it is usually still on. I have a photo of one of my horses with the mask turned all the way around, but she didn't get it off. I see no way to attach a photo here. It was pretty funny.

Excellent quality The only reason I gave it a 4 Star rating is because it didn't fit the horse I bought it for because the ear size was a little tight which made the visor fit a little higher than it should, therefore you could not adjust the top strap. It did fit my other horse so I kept it and reordered another mask without the ears. I really wish it would have fit as ear protection is a must due to the gnats.

Review of masks...... I absolutely LOVE these masks! My big horses have not figured out how to pull them off each other, and the UVB protection for my blue eyed Cremello is superb. My minis are a bit more proactive at removing them, but it definitely takes my one instigator longer to figure out how to pull it off the other one's head..... I have recommended these to all of my horse friends and I am trying to get our local feed/supply store to carry them, I'm that impressed!

Relief! After the first day wearing her new mask, my little mare's eyes looked great! Every other mask I tried didn't block the UV rays enough and her eyes would still get swollen, runny and red, which leads to an infection. Not any more! Don't need an eye injury to love the Equivizor Fly Mask I purchased two Equivizor Fly Masks with Ear Protection as soon as I heard about them. One of the masks will be for my elderly Tennessee Walker who has developed a tumor behind his eye. There is no longer sight in this eye, and it protrudes a bit. He is never turned out without a protective fly mask as the affected eye tends to water slightly, which attracts the flies and gnats. He has injured this eye a couple times already while rubbing his face. The Equivizor seemed like the perfect solution. The darts keep the mesh fabric away from his eye, the interior fabric along with the darts help to protect the eye from damage while rubbing, and the opening between the ear protection and the face mask allows his forelock to be pulled through keeping the hair out of his eye. It was a perfect mask for him -- except for the size. The Full size fit his face, but the attached ear protection didn't allow the padded dart area to sit above his eyes like a baseball visor; rather, it sat across his forehead. I contacted the company and I was immediately sent a sample Equivizor with a larger ear section. This Full size with XL ears fits him perfectly. The second Equivizor I purchased is for my QH-cross blue-eyed boy. Even during non-buggy days, he is always turned out with a fly mask to protect his eyes from the sun. When I read that the Equivizor offers about 20% more UV protection, it was a Buy One for Him, Too. The Full size with regular Ear Protection fits him beautifully, and he seems to find it quite comfortable. The fitting instructions are precise and very simple to follow. I am so grateful to have discovered these Equivizor Fly Masks for my horses that I have purchased two more to donate to my local Equine Rescue League. Great fly mask for the money This Is a great fly mask for the normal horse. I bought two after one of the ladies at the barn got one for her draftX. It stayed on him great and she loves it. I love that it comes with explicit instructions, which I followed. However, my 2 are really crafty at getting theirs mostly off. The throat latch design is a MAJOR help in keeping the mask on. That said, mine have trees, jumps and fence posts to rub on to get theirs off. I don't hold it against the company, I think it is a good design, and would recommend it to anyone.

I feel with him wearing it more it will not be so snug. Getting it one was a little hard it's not just a Velcro and go like the other ones but that's why it stays on instead of me having to go and find it 15 minutes later. Overall I'm satisfied.

Great My horse has slightly limited eyelid movement. I needed fly protection that didn't inhibit her eyelid movement and because she also had drainage that would draw the flies. This works great for her!

Stays on! My colt is the type that can squirm out of his blankets without undoing the straps. Traditional fly masks stayed on less than 10 minutes at freedom. The equivisor stays in place. The first dat he worked an ear out but that was my fault, I tightened the strap behind the ears just a bit more and it hasn't been able to shift since. He did manage to put a small hole in it the first few days but the hole has not torn further. He also tore a small bit of the edge from the seam on the equivisor his pasture mate wears. For as much as he tugs on his pasture mate and tries to remove his own this is the most durable fly mask I have ever had the pleasure to own.
